Walmart+ Free Trial Charge: the Day Each Holiday Shipping Trial Converts
A Walmart+ trial lasts 30 days, then turns into a paid plan: $98 a year or $12.95 a month. Started for holiday shipping in late November, it converts in late December. Note the date the day you sign up.

A Walmart+ trial runs for 30 days and then becomes a paid membership: $98 a year or $12.95 a month, depending on the plan you picked when you signed up. On October 24, 2026, Walmart's membership page offered that trial for $1 rather than free, so read the offer you actually get. Amazon Prime works the same way: a 30-day free trial, and then, in Amazon's words, you are "upgraded to a paid membership plan automatically at the end of the trial period." Start one for holiday shipping on November 24, and the charge lands around December 24, in the same week as every other holiday charge on your card.
When the Walmart+ trial turns into a charge
The trial is 30 days. When it ends, the membership continues as the plan you chose at sign-up, and the fee goes on the card you added:
| Plan after the trial | Price on Walmart's page, Oct 24, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Annual | $98 a year |
| Monthly | $12.95 a month |
Both plus applicable taxes.
The annual plan is the bigger surprise. If you started a trial for free delivery on gifts and picked the annual plan because it looked cheaper per month, the full $98 is what posts when the trial ends.
One more detail from Walmart's own page: its Black Friday early access is for paid Walmart+ members only, and its FAQ says exclusive access events open to members only after their trial. A trial member may not get it, so do not start a trial just for early access without checking the offer.
Trial lengths and prices change with the offer you get, and some trials come through a credit card or a promotion with their own length. The date that counts is the one in your sign-up confirmation or on your membership page.
The same pattern at other stores
Walmart+ is not the only shipping trial people start in November.
- Amazon Prime. Amazon's help page on the Prime free trial says new members can try Prime free for 30 days and are upgraded to a paid plan automatically when the trial ends. The Prime terms add a useful safety net: if you cancel within 3 business days of converting from a free trial to a paid membership, Amazon refunds the full fee, minus the value of Prime benefits you used in those 3 days.
- Other store and delivery memberships. Grocery delivery and store memberships also run trials, and the length depends on the offer. Check the trial terms on the sign-up screen or in the confirmation email rather than a coupon blog.
Each trial has its own end date, which is why they are easy to lose track of. For the general method, see how to cancel a free trial before you get charged.
Four dates to write down on day one
A trial started for the holidays comes with four dates:
- The day you started. It is in the confirmation email or on your membership page.
- The day it converts. Start date plus the trial length. Check the exact day on the membership page, since some trials end at the start of the last day.
- The day you stop needing it. Usually when the last gift arrives. Our holiday shipping deadlines for 2026 help you find it.
- The renewal date, if you keep it. An annual plan renews a year later. A monthly plan charges every month.
Why bother in November? Because late December is when card statements are already full: gifts, travel, the annual fees and subscriptions that renew at the end of the year. A $98 charge on December 24 is easy to miss in that list, and by the time you notice it in January, a refund may no longer be on offer.
If the conversion date falls before you are done with holiday orders, decide early: keep it for a month, or cancel and pay shipping on the last order. Either is fine, as long as it is a choice. The free trial tracker shows the same four things in one place.
Where Tracy fits
Tracy, the assistant in dEssence, does not see your email or your store accounts. Send her a screenshot of the trial confirmation, or forward the text, from Telegram, iMessage, Chrome or the web. Tracy keeps the start date, the conversion date and the price, and reminds you a few days before the charge so you can decide.
If you keep the membership, its renewal date joins the other renewal dates nobody mails you a letter about.
She does not cancel subscriptions for you. You decide, and you cancel in the store's account page.
