Amazon Prime Renewal Date: How to Find It Before You Are Charged
Your Amazon Prime renewal date is on your Prime membership page: sign in, open Account & Lists, then Memberships & Subscriptions. Amazon charges automatically on that date, $14.99 a month or $139 a year, so decide before it.

Your Amazon Prime renewal date is on your Prime membership page. On amazon.com, sign in, open Account & Lists, choose Memberships & Subscriptions, then open Prime, and look for the date of your next payment. Amazon charges automatically on that day: when your trial or membership period ends, it bills the next period, which is $14.99 a month or $139 a year for a standard plan, plus tax in some states. Under Amazon's Prime terms, you can cancel any time before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. So the useful move is simple: find the date once, and decide a few days before it.
Where to find your Amazon Prime renewal date
On a computer:
- Go to amazon.com and sign in.
- Hover over Account & Lists at the top right and choose Memberships & Subscriptions. Prime is listed there with your other Amazon memberships.
- Open Prime to get to your Prime membership page. It shows your plan, monthly or annual, and the date of your next payment. That is your renewal date.
Amazon's help pages call this page Prime Central, and the Customer Service page has a Manage Prime shortcut to it. In the Amazon app, look in your account menu for the same Prime membership page.
If you do not see a date, check two things. A free trial ends on a date shown on the same page, and it becomes a paid plan on that day. And if you joined Prime through another company, such as a phone carrier or Google Play on Android, Amazon's cancellation help says that company manages your membership and billing.
What renewal costs right now
From Amazon's membership fee page on October 23, 2026:
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Prime, monthly | $14.99 a month |
| Prime, annual | $139 a year |
| Prime for Young Adults | $7.49 a month or $69 a year |
| Prime Access (EBT, Medicaid, SNAP and other programs) | $6.99 a month |
| Prime Video only | $8.99 a month |
Some states add sales tax. Amazon can change prices, so the membership page shows what you will actually pay.
What to decide before the date
The renewal date is when the money moves, so think about Prime a few days before it. A few days before, the choices are:
- Keep it. Do nothing. Amazon renews on the date.
- Switch plans. Twelve months on the monthly plan is $179.88, against $139 for the annual one. If you know you will keep Prime all year, annual is cheaper. If you only want it around a big sale or a busy month, monthly can be cheaper overall.
- Pause it. Amazon lets some members pause: a monthly plan can pause for one month, and monthly or annual plans can pause for up to a year. The pause starts after the current billing period. Free trials, Prime Student and memberships through a third party cannot pause.
- Cancel it. Cancel before the renewal date and you are not charged again.
Our guide to cancelling a subscription before the renewal date covers the same decision for other services.
If you share Prime benefits with someone in your household, tell them before you pause or cancel, since their access depends on your membership.
If the charge already went through
It is not always too late. Amazon's terms set out two cases:
- Within 3 business days of signing up, or of a free trial turning into a paid plan, cancelling gets you a full refund. Amazon may keep the value of any Prime benefits used in those days.
- After that, you get a full refund only if you and your account have not made eligible purchases or used Prime benefits since the latest charge.
Amazon's help page says refunds take three to five business days to process. Subscriptions you added through Prime Video, like Paramount+, keep running after Prime ends, so cancel those separately.
Where Tracy fits
Tracy, the assistant in dEssence, does not log in to Amazon, read your email or cancel anything. You send her the date, and she comes back with it.
Take a screenshot of your Prime membership page, or paste the renewal line, and send it from Telegram, Chrome or the web. Tracy keeps the plan, price and date, and reminds you when you ask, a few days before the charge. Prime is one of many: see how to find every subscription for the rest of the list.
