UC Application Deadline: November 30, and the Dates That Come After

The University of California application for fall 2027 has one filing period for all nine undergraduate campuses: October 1 to November 30, 2026. November 30 is a Monday. Submitting is not the last step, though. On UC's own dates page, the next deadlines run from March 2, 2027 (financial aid) to July 15, 2027 (exam scores). This page lists them in order, with what to do the week after you press submit.

The UC dates for fall 2027, in order

These come from the UC dates and deadlines page for first-year applicants, checked on October 24, 2026:

  • August 1, 2026: the application opens, so you can start filling it in.
  • October 1 to November 30, 2026: the filing period. The application has to be submitted inside these dates.
  • October 1, 2026: FAFSA, the California Dream Act Application and the Cal Grant GPA Verification Form open.
  • March 2, 2027: deadline to submit FAFSA or the Dream Act application, and the GPA Verification Form.
  • March 1 to 31, 2027: fall admission decisions. UC notes that some campuses may release decisions before March.
  • May 1, 2027: deadline for admitted first-year students to submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), which is how you accept an offer.
  • July 1, 2027: final official transcripts due to the campus where you plan to enroll.
  • July 15, 2027: official AP and IB exam results due.

There is one filing period for every campus, so you do not need nine separate deadlines. If you are also applying to private colleges with early rounds, those are a different calendar: see our early decision and early action deadlines. For the California State University campuses, check calstate.edu, which keeps its own dates.

The week after you submit

UC's after you apply page lists a few things to do once the application is in. In plain terms:

  1. Print or save a copy of the application. Keep the application ID and the summary. You will be asked for that ID later, and it is the fastest way to find your record.
  2. Know what you can still change. You can log back in to update your phone number, email, mailing address and test scores, and you can add campuses that are still open. The activities and awards section and the personal insight questions cannot be changed after you submit.
  3. You cannot unsubmit. UC says a submitted application cannot be withdrawn and resubmitted, and duplicate applications are canceled. So if something is wrong, update it in your account instead of starting a new one.
  4. Report grade or schedule changes the way each campus asks. If you change schools, add or drop a course, or earn below a C after submitting, UC asks you to tell the campuses you applied to. Campuses handle this differently. UC Berkeley, UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara will not accept post-submission updates. Others have their own portal or form. The page lists each campus.
  5. Start watching email and campus portals. On its financial aid page, UC says campuses rely on students to check email and student online portals often. Each campus you applied to may send its own login.

Most of what goes wrong after submitting is not a missed deadline but a missed email: a portal invitation, a request for a document, a message about financial aid. Our guide to what to do after submitting college applications covers portals and missing documents in more detail.

Financial aid: March 2 is the next hard date

UC's apply for financial aid page lays out three steps:

  • The UC application itself. It is where you can apply for some UC scholarships.
  • A 2027-28 FAFSA or a California Dream Act Application, filed between October 1, 2026 and March 2, 2027. Most students file the FAFSA. Undocumented students who are AB540 eligible file the Dream Act application instead.
  • The Cal Grant GPA Verification Form. Most California high schools and community colleges submit GPAs automatically, but UC asks you to check with your school. If yours does not, the form has to be filed by March 2, 2027 as well.

Each campus that admits you then works out an aid offer and sends it electronically. The dates for federal and state aid in other states are different, so if you are applying more widely, keep one list. Our FAFSA 2027-28 deadlines guide puts federal, state and college dates together.

Decisions, then May 1

Each campus sends its own decision, generally by March 31. If you are admitted to more than one, you accept one offer by submitting the Statement of Intent to Register by May 1, 2027. After that, the dates are about paperwork: final transcripts by July 1 and AP or IB results by July 15, sent to the campus where you will enroll. UC does not use SAT or ACT scores in admission decisions.

A few months from now these dates will arrive as separate emails from separate campuses. Putting them on one list now is easier than finding them in an inbox in April.

Where Tracy fits

Tracy, the assistant in dEssence, does not read your email or log in to application portals. You send her what you get: a screenshot of the submission summary, a campus portal email pasted into Telegram or iMessage, a deadline from a web page saved in Chrome. She keeps each date, reminds you before it, and the list stays in one place instead of nine inboxes.

College dates sit next to the other paperwork families track, which is most of what people mean by life admin.
