Best App to Save Recipes From Instagram in 2026: 9 Options, Prices Checked

The best app to save recipes from Instagram in 2026 is one that reads the post for you. ReciMe and Flavorish both import recipes from Instagram, TikTok and other social apps into a real recipe card with ingredients and steps, and both have a free plan with a small import limit. Honeydew does the same on a paid plan. If you only need to find a saved reel again, Instagram's own Saved collections are free but have no search. Every price below was read on the app's own website on 25 September 2026.

The short answer

  • Best app to save recipes from Instagram for most people: ReciMe. It imports from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube, and the free plan allows 5 imports a week.
  • Best free app with a clear price for more: Flavorish. Free for up to 5 social media imports, Premium $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year for unlimited ones.
  • Best if you also want a meal planner with nutrition: Samsung Food, though its site only promises saving from any website.
  • Best if you never leave Instagram: Saved collections. Free, but you scroll instead of search.
  • Best if you remember the dish and not the account: a searchable library of what you saved, which is where dEssence fits.

How we picked

  • Each app had to answer the real question people type: "is there an app that takes recipes from Instagram?" Apps that only import from websites are marked as such.
  • Prices and free limits were read on each app's own website on 25 September 2026. Where an app does not show a price on its site, we say so and give no number.
  • Every entry has a "Best for" line and a "Where it falls short" line, ours included.

dEssence is our product and it is number 6 on this list. It is not a recipe app: no recipe cards, no grocery list, no meal plan. It is on the list for one problem, finding a recipe you saved weeks ago when you only remember the dish.

9Apple Notes or Google KeepA note with the link, ingredients and your changesThe few recipes you will really cook this month

1. ReciMe

The app most people mean when they ask for "an app that takes recipes from Instagram". Its site says it saves recipes from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube, and even from screenshots or photos of handwritten recipes.

Price on 25 September 2026. The free version is limited to 5 recipe imports per week, and the grocery list, meal plan and cookbooks stay free. The paid price is not listed on its website, so check it in the app store before you subscribe.

What it does. Turns a post into a recipe card, builds a grocery list sorted by supermarket aisle, and plans meals. There are iOS and Android apps, a web app and a Chrome extension.

Best for: people who cook from Instagram and TikTok every week.

Where it falls short. Five free imports a week runs out fast if you save a lot of reels. It is built for cooking, not for finding one post by a vague memory.

2. Flavorish

The clearest pricing of the importers. It says it imports recipes from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube when you share them to the app.

Price on 25 September 2026. Free plan with unlimited website imports and up to 5 social media imports. Premium is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year and makes social, image and text imports unlimited.

What it does. Recipe import, collections, meal plans and grocery lists sorted by aisle, on iOS, Android and the web.

Best for: trying Instagram import for free before you decide to pay.

Where it falls short. The free social imports are only enough for a test. After that you pay or copy recipes by hand.

3. Honeydew

Its site lists "a Reel, a TikTok, a screenshot, a photo of a cookbook page, a link a friend sent you" as things it can read.

Price on 25 September 2026. The app is free on iPhone and Android. Capturing recipes from photos, screenshots and social media posts is part of Honeydew Plus, and the Plus price is not listed on its website.

What it does. Imports recipes into a library, plans meals by week or month and builds a grocery list from the plan.

Best for: people who save recipes from reels, TikToks and screenshots alike.

Where it falls short. The feature you came for is behind the paid plan, and its site does not show what that plan costs.

4. Deglaze

A simple share-sheet saver. Its site says: tap the share button in Instagram, TikTok, Safari or Chrome, pick Deglaze, and the recipe goes into your library.

Price on 25 September 2026. A free download on its website. No paid plan is shown there.

What it does. Recipe import, search across recipe sites, a grocery list sorted by aisle and a cooking mode with timers.

Best for: saving in two taps without leaving Instagram.

Where it falls short. Its site does not say what is free forever and what may cost money later, so there is less to plan around.

5. Samsung Food

A big meal-planning app with a recipe box, communities and nutrition info for every recipe you save.

Price on 25 September 2026. Free to use. Food+ is $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year after a 7 day trial, and the page notes that plan details can differ by country.

What it does. Saves recipes from any website into a recipe box, drags them into a weekly meal plan and turns the plan into a shopping list.

Best for: meal planning with calorie counts.

Where it falls short. Its site talks about saving from any website and does not promise Instagram import, so test one reel before you move your collection.

6. dEssence

Ours, so the boundary first. dEssence is not a recipe app. It will not turn a reel into a recipe card, scale ingredients or write a grocery list. You send it the post link or a screenshot of the caption from the Chrome extension, the Telegram bot or the web app, and later you ask for it the way you remember it: "that creamy tomato pasta with the burnt butter".

Price on 25 September 2026. There is a free plan and a paid Pro plan. Source: dessence.ai.

What it does. Keeps the links and screenshots you save, from Instagram and anywhere else, and answers questions about your library.

Best for: finding a recipe you saved weeks ago when you remember the dish but not the account.

Where it falls short. No recipe cards, no meal planner, no grocery list. If you cook from saved reels every week, one of the first five apps will serve you better.

7. Paprika

A recipe manager for iOS, Android, Mac and Windows. Its site says you save recipes from anywhere on the web using its built-in browser, and it does not mention Instagram.

Price on 25 September 2026. Each version of Paprika (iOS, Android, Mac, Windows) is sold separately. The price is not listed on its website.

What it does. Recipe library, cloud sync, meal plans and grocery lists that combine the same ingredients.

Best for: recipes that live on food blogs.

Where it falls short. Built for websites. For a reel you still copy the recipe by hand.

8. Instagram Saved

The option you already have. Tap the bookmark under a post, and put it in a collection like "Dinners" or "Baking".

Price on 25 September 2026. Free.

What it does. Keeps the post, the creator and the video together inside Instagram.

Best for: a small, familiar set of recipes you can still scroll through.

Where it falls short. There is no search box inside Saved. You browse the grid or a collection, so once you have hundreds of thumbnails that look alike, a recipe is hard to find again. More on this in our guide to searching saved Instagram posts.

9. Apple Notes or Google Keep

The manual route. Paste the post link into a note, copy the ingredients from the caption and write down what you changed.

Price on 25 September 2026. Free.

What it does. A plain note you control, searchable by the words you typed.

Best for: the few recipes you are really going to cook this month.

Where it falls short. Every recipe takes a few minutes of copying. It works for ten recipes, not for three hundred.

Which app to choose

  • You cook from reels every week: ReciMe or Flavorish. Try both free with the same three reels and keep the one that reads them better.
  • You want to know the price before you start: Flavorish, the only importer here with its paid price on its own site.
  • You plan the whole week and count calories: Samsung Food.
  • You save recipes from blogs, not reels: Paprika.
  • You have hundreds of saved reels and cannot find any of them: stop adding to Instagram Saved and keep new recipes somewhere you can search, like dEssence or a notes app.

Test one recipe before you move everything

  1. Pick a reel where the recipe is only in the caption, and one where it is only spoken in the video.
  2. Import both into the app you are trying.
  3. Check that the ingredients and amounts match the post.
  4. Two weeks later, try to find one of them by the dish name alone.

If the app fails step 3 on the spoken recipe, you will still be copying by hand. If you fail step 4, capture was never the problem.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an app that takes recipes from Instagram?

Yes. ReciMe, Flavorish, Honeydew and Deglaze all say on their websites that they import recipes from Instagram posts and reels. You share the post to the app, and it turns the caption into a recipe card with ingredients and steps. Check one real reel first, because recipes that are only spoken in the video are harder to import than recipes written in the caption.

What is the best free app to save recipes from Instagram?

For a free test, Flavorish and ReciMe. Flavorish's free plan includes up to 5 social media imports, and ReciMe's free version allows 5 recipe imports per week. If you only need a place to keep the post, Instagram Saved and a notes app are free with no limit.

What is the best app for saving recipes from social media in general?

ReciMe lists Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. Flavorish lists Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Honeydew lists reels, TikToks and screenshots, with social import on its paid plan.

How do I find saved recipes on Instagram?

Open your profile, tap the menu, then Saved. You can open All posts or a collection, but there is no search box inside Saved, so you scroll. It helps to think about when you saved the recipe, not when it was posted. Our guide on whether you can search saved Instagram posts covers the other routes, like likes, messages and the account export.

Can I import recipes from Instagram into Paprika or Mela?

Their websites describe importing recipes from web pages through a built-in browser, and neither mentions Instagram. For reels, an app built for social import, or copying the caption by hand, is the safer route.

Why do my saved Instagram recipes disappear?

A saved post stops opening when the creator deletes it, makes the account private or loses access to it, and a deleted original cannot be restored from your Saved tab. We cover the common causes in Instagram saved posts keep disappearing. If a recipe matters, keep a copy outside Instagram: an import, a note, or at least a screenshot of the caption.

Is there a way to search my saved recipes by ingredient?

Not inside Instagram Saved. Recipe apps let you search the recipes you imported. dEssence lets you ask about what you saved in your own words, like "the chickpea curry with spinach", which helps when you remember the dish and not who posted it.
