AI Assistants That Remember What You Save: Which Ones Follow Up

An AI assistant that remembers what you save should do two things: give it back when you ask, and come back on its own when it matters. Five assistants compared on what you can send, what they keep, and what makes them message you.

AI Assistants That Remember What You Save: Which Ones Follow Up

An AI assistant that remembers what you save should do two jobs. It should give the thing back when you ask ("what was that restaurant?"), and it should come back on its own when the thing starts to matter, like a return window closing. Most assistants do the first well. Fewer do the second without you setting each reminder.

Search for an assistant like this and you will find product pages, each one promising to remember everything. There is no side-by-side review, so here is one. Everything below comes from each product's own website as of October 6, 2026.

Remember vs come back: the difference that matters

"Remembers" can mean two different things, and most product pages blur them.

  • Gives it back when you ask. You save the restaurant name, and a month later you ask "what was that place Anna recommended?" and get the answer. This is memory as search.
  • Comes back on its own. You save a jacket, and the assistant messages you when it drops in price. You save a booking, and it messages you before free cancellation ends. This is memory as follow-through.

The first saves you time. The second saves you money and missed dates, because you do not have to remember to ask.

The criteria we used

  1. What can you send? Text only, or also voice notes, photos, screenshots, links and PDFs.
  2. Can you ask about it later? In your own words, not by exact keywords.
  3. Does it come back on its own? And what triggers it: a time you set, or something that changed.
  4. Where does it live? WhatsApp, Telegram, the browser or its own app.
  5. What does it cost? After any trial.

The assistants

Remindio

Remindio works inside WhatsApp. "Say it. Forward it. Write it once," says its homepage: it saves what you send, organizes it and reminds you. You can ask for a detail later, and the Flow plan and up add search by meaning ("what was that restaurant?"). Spark is $5 a month for 100 reminders and 500 memories. Flow is $10 a month with unlimited reminders and memories, Telegram as well as WhatsApp, and Google Calendar sync. Unlimited is $30 a month. All start with a 7-day free trial.

It comes back at the times you set, plus a daily briefing.

Memorae

Memorae also lives in WhatsApp, and in Telegram, email, a Chrome extension and its own iOS and Android apps. It saves notes, lists and reminders, and its site shows requests like "show me the insurance document I saved last month." Its photo feature turns a picture of a schedule, list or whiteboard into a reminder or task. It syncs with calendars and can remind other people over WhatsApp. Plans start after a 7-day free trial, and the price depends on your region.

It comes back at the times you set and with briefings on higher plans.

Zuno

Zuno is a reminder assistant. Its site presents it in Telegram (parts of the page still say WhatsApp). You send a text, a voice note or a photo, and it turns that into a one-time or recurring reminder. Its FAQ says it is free for early adopters.

It is closer to a reminder bot than a memory: it keeps what you asked to be reminded about.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT has a memory feature that can remember preferences and details from your chats. OpenAI's help page is honest about the limit: memory does not keep every detail from every conversation, and ChatGPT decides what is relevant. Separately, scheduled tasks can remind you or check something at a time you set.

It is a strong place to think things through. It is not a place built to hold the 40 links and screenshots you saved this month.

Tracy (dEssence)

Tracy is the assistant in dEssence, which we build. You send links, screenshots, PDFs and photos from the Chrome extension, Telegram, iMessage or the web, as they are, without sorting them first. She works out what each thing is and what may matter later, such as a date, a price or a deadline, and comes back when there is a reason: a price you asked her to watch drops, an item is back in stock, a date she found is close. You can also ask about anything you sent, months later, in your own words. Free is $0 with 20 saves and 20 messages a day and 100 watches checked daily; Pro is $10 a month with 150 saves, 200 messages and hourly checks.

She does not read your email or connect to your calendar.

Can an AI assistant remember what I tell it?

Yes, all five can. The question is how much and for how long. ChatGPT's memory keeps what it judges relevant, not every detail. Remindio, Memorae and Tracy keep each thing you send as its own item, so you can ask for it months later.

Which AI assistant remembers screenshots and photos?

Memorae and Zuno take photos and turn them into reminders. Tracy reads screenshots, photos and PDFs and keeps the useful details with them, such as a price, a date or an order number. Remindio's site focuses on text and forwarded messages.

Which AI assistant reminds me without me asking?

None of them reads your mind. Remindio, Memorae and Zuno remind you at times you set. Tracy can also come back when something changes on a thing you saved: a price drop you asked her to watch, an item back in stock, a date she found in a document you sent.

Is an AI memory assistant private?

Each one sees what you send it, and some also see what you connect. Before you start, check three things on the privacy page: whether your data trains AI models, whether you can delete everything, and where it is stored. Do not send passwords to any assistant, even if its examples show it. dEssence says it does not sell personal data or use your saves to train third-party AI models, and you can delete anything you no longer want kept.

How to pick in ten minutes

Use the checklist below with one real item, like a recent order with a return window. Send it to the assistant, ask about it the next day, and see whether it would come back before the window closes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a memory app and a reminder app?

A reminder app fires at the time you set. A memory app keeps what you saved so you can find it. An assistant that remembers what you save does both and can also come back when something changes.

Is there a free AI assistant that remembers what you save?

Zuno is free for early adopters, though it is mainly for reminders. dEssence has a free plan with 20 saves a day. Remindio and Memorae start with a 7-day trial and then charge.

Do I need WhatsApp for these assistants?

Not always. Remindio's Spark plan is WhatsApp only, and Flow adds Telegram. Memorae works in WhatsApp, Telegram, email and its own apps. Zuno and Tracy work in Telegram, and Tracy also works in iMessage, in the Chrome extension and on the web.
