Airbnb Wish Lists: Sharing, Notes and Vanishing Listings

An Airbnb wish list holds up to 100 saved stays with the dates you searched. Share it from Wishlists with the Share button; logged-in collaborators can add notes and vote. Anyone with the link can view it, even someone you removed.

Airbnb Wish Lists: Sharing, Notes and Vanishing Listings

If your Airbnb wishlist is not working, separate the problem into access, collaboration and availability. A friend who cannot edit the list needs a different fix from a listing that no longer appears for the trip dates. Start with the account and the dates before rebuilding the group's shortlist.

How Airbnb wishlists actually save a stay

Tap the heart on a listing and choose an existing wishlist or create a new one. Further saves from the same search go into the same wishlist automatically; use Change to move an entry. Each wishlist holds up to 100 listings, and entries retain the original search dates until you update them.

Logged-in collaborators can read and add notes, vote listings up or down, change proposed trip dates and update the guest count. Anyone with the link can view the wishlist. For a viewing link, open its settings and choose Share as view only. These controls are described in Airbnb's guide, Use wishlists to save listings.

Before sending the group back into the search results, agree on the trip you are comparing. A flexible weekend and a fixed arrival day produce different shortlists. Ask the organizer to state the current dates and guest count in the group conversation, then have everyone compare against those details.

Give the list a recognizable trip name. This is your own naming habit, not an access control. A name such as “Coastal weekend with friends” is easier to distinguish from the unrelated places you saved while browsing for another holiday.

How to share an Airbnb wishlist with friends

Open the wishlist and select Share, then choose how you want to send it. On a computer, the list is under Menu → Wishlists; in the Airbnb app, tap Wishlists and pick the list. To add more people later, tap the group of profile pictures of your current collaborators.

People you invite can add stays to the list. Collaborators who are logged in to Airbnb can also add and read notes, vote listings up or down, change the proposed trip dates and update the guest count. If you only want people to look, open the wishlist settings and choose Share as view only. Either way, anyone who has the link can view the wishlist.

Airbnb wishlist not working for the group

Airbnb's Wishlist not working article recommends checking the account, logging out and back in, reinstalling the app if necessary, and confirming availability. Work through that sequence without treating every missing stay as an app failure. If none of it helps, the same page lets you report the wishlist problem to Airbnb.

Treat deletion as a deliberate reset. Tell the current group which list replaces the old one, and stop circulating the previous link. Preserve the useful context before you delete anything; do not expect the new wishlist to inherit the discussion.

Keep sensitive travel details out of the wishlist notes. A useful comment might explain that a place suits a late arrival. It does not need a traveler's personal circumstances, private contact details or the contents of the group's separate conversations.

When a saved Airbnb listing disappears

Check the trip dates against the dates attached to the saved candidate. Ask whether the group changed its arrival plans after the original search. A place that no longer fits those dates should move out of the active decision, even if everybody still likes its photographs.

If you have the original listing reference, use it to investigate the current stay rather than trying to reconstruct it from a cropped picture. If availability remains unclear, ask the host about the intended dates. Avoid telling the group that the place has been deleted unless you have evidence of that.

Keep a fallback candidate whose practical requirements also work. “The prettiest remaining option” may still fail if the beds, location or arrival arrangements are wrong. Write down the requirement that disqualified the missing favorite so you can compare the replacement fairly.

Keep the reason outside the listing

Airbnb supports notes, so use them while collaborating. The limitation is that a listing-centered shortlist is a fragile home for the group's lasting reasoning. Preserve your own concise decision record separately.

Write the property name, neighborhood, intended dates and guest needs, followed by the reason it reached the shortlist. Useful phrases include “host answered our arrival question clearly,” “easy walk from the station” and “check again if we shift arrival to Tuesday.” Distinguish something you verified from something you still need to ask.

Include the outstanding question and who is checking it. “Sam will confirm the sleeping arrangements” is more useful than another heart reaction. When the group chooses a stay, mark that decision in the same record so an old favorite does not restart the discussion.

What changed in Airbnb wishlists in 2025 and 2026

Wishlists now hold more than homes. Airbnb Experiences and Services pages carry a Save to wishlist button, so a trip list can keep a cooking class next to the apartment. Notes on saved listings arrived in 2023, and shared wishlists with voting in 2024.

On 30 September 2026 Airbnb started rolling out an AI comparison, beginning in the US, that shows homes from your wishlist side by side with short AI summaries of key features. The same update added a Travel Map, where you can save favorites from the trips of people you are connected with straight to your wishlist. Wishlists and the Trips tab remain separate: the shared itinerary map announced in 2026 lives in Trips.

Can you see who saved an Airbnb listing to a wishlist?

No. Guests do not see how many people saved a listing, and nobody sees names. Hosts who use professional hosting tools get a count instead: Insights → Performance → Conversion shows Wishlist additions, the number of times a listing was added to guest wishlists.

Saves still matter to hosts. Airbnb lists how often guests save a listing to their wishlist among the engagement signals it uses to rank search results. The Guest favorite badge is a different thing, based on ratings, reviews and reliability rather than on saves.

Frequently asked questions

How many listings can an Airbnb wishlist hold?

Up to 100 listings per wishlist.

Can I share an Airbnb wishlist without letting people edit it?

Yes. Open the wishlist settings and choose Share as view only. Keep in mind that anyone with the link can view the list.

Why can a removed collaborator still see my Airbnb wishlist?

Removing someone does not cancel the link they already have. To shut that link off, delete the wishlist and create a new one, which comes with a new share link.

Why did a saved Airbnb listing disappear from my wishlist?

It may be booked for the dates you searched. Open the wishlist, select other dates and the guest count, and save to see when the place is free, or ask the host whether they can open availability for you.

Can you save Airbnb experiences to a wishlist?

Yes. Experiences and Services pages have a Save to wishlist button, and Airbnb's help says the heart works for a place or an experience you love.
