Etsy Saved for Later: Where That List Actually Lives
Etsy's Saved for later is a section at the bottom of your cart, not a separate list. Select Save for later under an item to park it and Move to cart to bring it back. Items left in the cart for over 30 days move there on their own.

People searching for "Etsy save for later not working" usually mean one of two things: the list looks empty, or the button did not do what they expected. Both trace back to one design decision that Etsy never advertises loudly.
Save for later is not a list of its own. It is a section of your cart, and that single fact explains most of the complaints.
Where is Saved for later on Etsy?
At the bottom of your cart. On Etsy.com and in the Etsy app, open your cart and scroll past the items you are buying: Etsy calls this the saved for later section of your cart. Etsy's help describes no separate page or menu for it. Each item there has Move to cart, which returns it to the buying list.
To put something there, select Save for later under the item in your cart. In the app, you reach the cart through View in your cart after adding an item, and the same Save for later option sits under each item.
Etsy's cart help tells you to sign in first, so the saved items belong to your account. Its newer purchase help also shows Save for later in a guest cart on Etsy.com, but Etsy does not say whether items saved as a guest follow you after you sign in. If you saved something while signed out, check the same browser.
How the button actually works
Etsy documents this on its help pages, and the steps are short once you know where to look.
There is also a quiet behaviour that catches people out. According to Etsy's help pages, an item that has been sitting in your cart for more than 30 days gets moved into the saved section by Etsy itself. Nobody touched anything, and yet the cart is suddenly shorter. Etsy describes both the button and this move in its guidance on removing an item from your cart.
Save for later is not Favorites
These two get confused constantly, and they are built for different moments.
One detail from Etsy's help on keeping track of items and shops you love is worth memorising, because it sends people hunting through the wrong menu: in the app in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, favourites sit under You and then Favorites, while in other countries Favorites appears directly.
So if you hearted something and later went looking in the cart, or saved something in the cart and later went looking in Favorites, nothing is broken. You are in the wrong list. And if what you really want is to hear when the price falls, a price alert with your own target price does that job better than either list.
Why the list looks broken, in order of how often it is the answer
You are signed out. This is the big one. A signed-out session shows a guest cart, not the cart on your account, so the items you saved while signed in are not there. Sign in to see the cart and the saved items on your account.
You are signed in somewhere else. A second account, a work laptop, a phone browser you used once. Etsy shows the cart belonging to whoever is signed in, and people often have more accounts than they remember.
You are looking in Favorites. As a rule, if you cannot remember whether you tapped a heart or pressed a button in the cart, check the bottom of the cart first, because that is the shorter list.
The item is gone. For Favorites, Etsy's help lists three reasons an item disappears: the seller removed it, the seller closed the shop, or Etsy removed it for breaking site policies. Sold-out items stay in Favorites. A shop in Vacation Mode hides its listings from search, and its items show as unavailable. Etsy does not say what happens to such items in Saved for later.
Etsy Saved for later not loading
Start with Etsy's own order of fixes. Update the Etsy app to the latest version, or try a different browser on a computer. Then turn off browser add-ons and, if the cart still fails, clear your cache and Etsy cookies. Etsy warns that clearing cookies can sign you out and remove saved passwords, so do that step last.
Before you change anything, check Etsy's Technical Issues forum for a known problem. If the whole cart loads but the saved section is empty, go back to the account checks below.
A shopping order that survives one shop
The reason this is annoying is that all three lists belong to Etsy, and each one answers a different question badly on its own. A layout that holds up:
Favorites with collections for ideas. Anything you might want someday. Group them by room, by person, by occasion, so the list stays scannable instead of becoming a wall of hearts. If those ideas are gifts for family, a wishlist app made for gift lists lets relatives reserve them without spoiling the surprise.
The cart for the short list. Only things you intend to buy soon, with the saved section underneath as the waiting room. Remember the 30-day move so you are not surprised by it. Walmart keeps its saved items under the cart as well; this guide shows where Walmart keeps Save for Later items and why the section can look empty.
A note of your own for the decision. The thing that no shop's list holds: what the item is, why you want it, and what price you would actually pay. That is the part worth keeping outside any single store. This guide shows how to make a wishlist from multiple sites, so Etsy finds sit next to everything else.
That last line is where dEssence fits. You save the listing from any shop in one move through the browser extension or the Telegram bot, with your own sentence attached. If you want to know when something changes price or comes back in stock, you set that watch yourself on the saved item. It is a second, deliberate action, not something that starts happening on its own. When the shop takes the listing down, you still have your description of what you wanted, which is enough to find it again somewhere else. On marketplaces with many variants the same rule holds: track the exact AliExpress variant and its delivered price, not the headline number.
Frequently asked questions
Is Saved for later in the Etsy app too?
Yes. In the app, open your cart and scroll to the bottom, below the items you are buying. It works the same way as on Etsy.com.
Why is my Etsy Saved for later empty?
Check that you are signed in to the account you saved with, then scroll to the bottom of the cart instead of looking in Favorites. Hearted items live in Favorite Items, not in the cart.
Does Etsy move items to Saved for later on its own?
Yes. An item that stays in your cart for more than 30 days moves to Saved for later automatically.
How do I move an item from Saved for later back to my cart?
Scroll to the bottom of your cart and select Move to cart under the item.
Does Etsy tell you when a saved item goes on sale?
Etsy describes no alert for Saved for later. Price news comes through Favorites and the cart: a shop can email you a discount on an item you favorited, or on an item left in your cart for more than two hours, if you get Etsy's marketing emails. The Etsy app can also send push notifications about sales on your favorite pieces.
