This becomes especially visible with personal saves. Screenshots, stray links, forwarded messages, and articles may never reach Notion because filing them feels like extra work.

Check what each tool retrieves
- Ask ChatGPT about a preference or recurring detail you previously shared. Inspect memory settings if the response surprises you.
- Ask Notion AI a question answered by a specific workspace page. Confirm that the response points to the right source.
- If Notion cannot answer, check that the page is available and any outside source is connected.
- Test one item saved outside both systems.
If neither tool finds the outside item, the issue may be its information boundary rather than weak AI. ChatGPT memory follows conversations. Notion AI follows the documented workspace. Your saving system must cover what lives beyond both.
